Look what I found! They're making TLK 4 - no, I'm joking. We wish though! But seriously, I think I found my screenshot technique
Anyhow, story time (and because I haven't drawn Zira properly before, ever).
I think something happened when Zira was a little girl that changed her life forever. Something happened that scarred and traumatised her. The event made her gradually habour the unhealthy obsession with power. Zira's move from her homeland to the Pridelands was no accident. She had heard that there lived a great King. The King had a brother with no mate. And so began her plot . . But I think her ways can be traced back to the thing that happened in her childhood, whatever that may be . .

As far as I've heard, Zira had a brother named Nuka (hence her son Nuka), (but obviously not cannon). He got killed in a accident and maybe at the time she was mistreated by her father, until he killed her mother and abandoned Zira, as she was a weakling to him. That's how I view things
