The first time Simba was let out to play alone, Mufasa called him back for a moment to give a gentle warning. 'We know you are old enough to explore the Pridelands by yourself and no doubt you will take Nala with you. But listen carefully, Simba. No matter what happens, you are the gentleman and Nala is the lady. It is the duty of a gentleman to look after the lady. Do you understand?'
Simba nodded impatiently, not really understanding. He just wanted to go out and play.
His eyes just glaze over when someone's lecturing him. Almost can't tell if he's listening. Hmm, that reminds me of someone. Oh, yeah, that's right: me. Hehehe, I'm not good with lectures.
No, not like school lectures (though I do tend to fall asleep during them, but that's only because I have to get up at 6 in the morning to get to campus on time). No I mean like when I get lectured by my folks and such. "Don't do this..." "You should do that..." Those sorts of lectures. I then end up staring into nothing and contemplating random thoughts and end up forgetting what was being discussed in the first place.
Oh, yeah, it always comes in handy. And I do feel a bit bad about it after a while. But it's also always something I already know. Like, clean my room. Or, don't do stupid things that are stupid.
