The more I think about it, the more it seems a plausible explanation for Taka's resentment towards his brother. I think that it is possible that Muffy was a bully growing up. It would have been normal, sibling rivalry between two brothers, but the fact that they were heirs made it worse.
Though eventually as Muffy became older, he grew out of his bullying ways and became a wise lion, learning from the wrongs he made in his childhood. But it was too late for Taka. The hurt was done and the seeds of hate planted in Taka's heart.
